On March 14th, 2012, the BBC reported that Iran may be behind a "sophisticated cyber-attack" on the BBC's offices. According to the article, the cyberattack coincided with an earlier attempt to block the BBC's Persian Service satellite feed.
Mark Thompson, BBC's Director General, previously accused Iran of "repeated jamming of international TV stations . . . preventing the Iranian people from accessing a vital source of free information."
As for the cyberattack, the article explained that the BBC offices came under a DDOS attack on March 1st, 2012, crippling e-mail and other internet services.
