It’s not necessarily groundbreaking cyber news or analysis, but I thought this was pretty cool: via the New York Times’ Tom Marshall, here’s a lesson plan (likely tailored towards high school students) which covers cybersecurity & cyberwar.
The article is useful from an educational perspective, and has a few interesting exercises for high school students. It also poses some fundamental questions:
1. Is the threat real or hyped?
2. What are America’s rules governing cyberwar?
3. Did the United States set a bad example?
4. Are the United States and China cyberrivals?
5. What is the best response to cyberthreats: offense, defense or clever thinking?
6. What can the private companies or individuals do?
Finally, the article is exceptionally useful in that it references many of the important cybersecurity articles from the past year with hyperlinks.
