Apple Software Flaw Exposes Mobile Devices to Hack

On Friday, Apple Inc. Software announced it had uncovered a critical flaw in its mobile device software that may allow hackers to intercept communications that would otherwise be encrypted, Reuters reports.

“It’s as bad as you could imagine, that’s all I can say,” commented cryptology professor Matthew Green of Johns Hopkins University.

As CNN reported, the software defect leaves emails, instant messages, social media posts, and online bank transactions vulnerable to hack.

Apple released a security patch over the weekend; however, it addresses the issue only in iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches with the most recent software, according to CNN.  Without the patch, these devices remain susceptible to attack.
