Man, I love Sunday nights, the NYT or WashPo always drops something good around 9-10pm.
For tonight’s article, David Sanger writes for The New York Times on the China-U.S. relationship and how the USG might respond to pervasive Chinese cyberexploitation. A few interesting tidbits:
- USG released a list of malicious computer addresses, but declined to say “that nearly every one of the digital addresses could be traced to the neighborhood in Shanghai” that Mandiant pinpointed.\
- The Obama administration was “perfectly happy” to have Mandiant issue its report, and for those questioning Mandiant’s methods/conclusions, “American officials said privately that they had no problems with Mandiant’s conclusions, but they did not want to say so on the record.”
- Sanger reports that “[i]n the next few months . . . there will be many private warnings delivered by Washington to Chinese leaders. . . .”
