On Dec. 26th, 2011, Reuters reported that hackers broke into US security think tank Stratfor.  Stratfor provides daily intelligence briefings (mostly to corporate clients, but some are available to the public).  According to the article, Stratfor did not name anyone behind the hacking, but the hacktivist group Anonymous claimed responsibility.  The attackers leaked home addresses and credit card details of all of Stratfor's private clients. 

As I write this, Stratfor's website is still "under maintenance."

I doubt that it was actually Anonymous who hacked Stratfor.  There are always attribution problems with these hacktivist groups.  It seems more likely that Lulzsec or Antisec, more radical offshoots of Anonymous, hacked into Stratfor.  This attack bears all the hallmarks of a Lulzsec attack (releasing addresses and credit card details of innocent people).
