Max Fisher, for the Washington Post, on how CIA Director David Petraeus’ personal biographer, Paula Broadwell, gained access to his Gmail account. Yesterday we learned that Petraeus had been having an affair with Broadwell. A few people suggested that the affair shouldn’t matter, as he’s still damn good at his job.
According to the WashPo article, Broadwell sent harassing e-mails to associates of Petraeus, which suggests that Broadwell got those addresses from Petraeus’ Gmail account. Of course, even if the mundane details of that account were to fall into enemy hands . . .
