Time Travelin’ Through Cyberspace: Bloomberg

This is pretty cool.

On Jan. 4th, 2012, Elizabeth Lopatto reported for Bloomberg on a new scientific advancement out of Upstate New York.  According to the article, researchers from Cornell have managed to create a pocket of time by manipulating beams of light.  The pocket is only a few trillionths of a second.  I'd recommend checking out the article for a better explanation of the experiment…

Moreover, this new research has cyber applications.  The article notes that the experiment used fiber-optic cables.  Computer data travels down fiber-optic cables.  According to the article, the NSA or CIA could potentially use these pockets of time "to sneek looks at computer data without being detected."
